FOLGA – FRIENDS OF LATTON GREEN ACADEMY

Who we are:

FOLGA are a group of Parents, Carers and Grandparents who work together with the school to put on events in order to raise money to buy things for the school to enrich the children’s school life – for example playground equipment, reading prizes and anything else that the school request that we can do. We have previously raised enough money to update the school sound system and provide a new table tennis table. We also contribute throughout the year towards the cost of coaches for school events taking place.

What we do:

We meet on a regular basis – once a month or more often when an event is coming up, to discuss what we need to organise for the event to ensure the event runs smoothly and to raise as much funds as possible. We will then plan for the event, arranging the buying of the equipment, purchasing of refreshments, sorting of games, volunteering at the event and helping to prepare and set up.  Money Management for all events held by FOLG.

What are we fundraising for?

We are currently raising funds for an outdoor Reading area. Children are also given the opportunity to suggest ideas for future fundraising. These are written down or drawn and given to the school office.

  • Join our WhatsApp group to add input to conversations – planning and organising and to give ideas. (LEAVE YOUR NAME AND NUMBER IN THE OFFICE)
  • Like our Facebook page to keep up to date with what events are being planned and share events open to the public – Summer Fete. (FOLGA - Friends Of Latton Green)
  • Help volunteer at the events – Discos, Summer fete, Christmas Fayre (DATES LISTED ON CALENDAR)
  • Designing Posters, creating invites, Writing up something for the Newsletter
  • Helping to source raffle prizes
  • Having contacts in useful places
  • Buying of Toys / Refreshments / Games / Prizes

If you are unable to help with any of the above – then participation of going to the events is just as important, as the more children and families that come to our events, the more fundraising we can do.
